22nd Century Starship pt. 15

I think this is going to do it as far as modeling on this one. I could add more greebles, but it’s a Trek ship. (not a Borg ship ;)) One thing I definitely try to avoid doing is over-greebling Federation ships.

Gerard Duffy (AKA Taranis) asked for some wires, so here they are. Lightwave does have a render to wireframe option, but I don’t see anywhere that I can render to a “hidden line” wireframe (where you can’t see the lines on the other side that shouldn’t be visible from the view.) So, I just did some screen shots.

  1. This is a very silly request, but is it possible for the docking port to be moved a little to the front side? Those are impulse exhausts so I would gather it occupies space at the back there. Plus if you could remove the windows on top of the impulse engines, would be double-ly awesome πŸ˜€

BTW, that whole design is full of win. It seems like a logical step forward from the Intrepid class πŸ™‚

Think that is the ship class the Talwar should proceed into in the future *wink, nudge* πŸ˜‰

    • Hm, thanks for pointing that out. The easiest thing to do would be to move or remove the impulse engine that’s there. Moving the docking port at this stage in the build would involve a lot of work, including redoing parts of the saucer. Meanwhile, the impulse/RCS combo thing is just stuck on the back. I’ll probably just extend the impulse piece back a bit, allowing the impulse mechanics to be completely contained in the module and not be an issue for the docking port and windows.
