Half Saucer Redux Pt. 2

Here’s an underside shot of the ship.

I also did a variation of this ship based on a suggestion from someone at 3DSciFi.  I moved the nacelles back and nixed the little winglets to make the ship look more like other Trek ships where the nacelles don’t overlap the saucer.  I decided at the time that it was a different class and called it the Endeavour.  Anywho, here is its redux:

  1. Hi Chris!
First of all, your work is fantastic!
I came by again and again just to see it but I’ve always been to shy to leave a comment.
And now I have to be a little egoistic… I’m creating, with a friend of mine, a roleplay game by chat situated in an universe of our creation, (it’s based in the Milk Way Galaxy, but it’s not based on Star Trek or Star Gate, nor it takes from Battlestar Galactica, Star Wars and any other sci-fi saga) and we’ve been lookin all around the web for a space station to use as our first space outpost, only to decide that the one you displayed in the post “Leaving Spacedock (Updated)” is the best suited for what we want. I’m writing you to ask your permission to use it, (and maybe to see if you can lend us a render without any ship to work with). Naturally, we’ll credit the work as yours and we’ll add a link to this blog.
Let me know if you agree or not, (you can contact me at the email I’ve specified for this comment).

In any case, I really appreciate all your renderings and I hope you’ll keep up the good work.

    Take care,

    • Is it sad that I had to search my own blog to find the post to which you were referring?

That’s not a problem, using the space station. I’m sure I can whip up a shot of the station with no ships. I can even give you a couple orthographic views, if that’s what you want (top and side.)

Thanks for looking at the blog and thanks for the compliment. 🙂

      • It’s not sad at all! I often get sidetracked when browsing my own blog, so don’t worry about it!

The post I was referring it’s this one:

As for the views, we will take whatever you can provide, although a side view would be perfect, I think. We’re gonna make a sort of map out of it, so a side view, as long as it takes all of the base, (from top to bottom), should be enough!

Last but not least, thank you so much for saying yes. It means a great deal for us!

  2. Dude – that is a seriously well done ship. That last pic is excellent and I agree with scifieric. I really liked that ship when it got introduced – nice to see more renders of it.
