On the Frontier

Another render.  Still downloading that file.  It takes a while to download a 696 MB file on a 56k internet connection, but it can be done.  😉  Of course, I could have been done a few days ago if I’d left the thing downloading constantly but I don’t want to tie up my phone line during hours when people might call, so I’ve been downloading in the middle of the night.

  1. Hell I don’t like downloading a 10mb file. I wouldn’t even try 696. Plu sit’s not that far from 666 and number follows me everywhere.:D
Great picture. That is one of my favorite ships from Enterprise. And that show had so many cool ships.

    • Thanks bro.

As far as downloading,I don’t mind downloading large files, though this is the largest I’ve ever downloaded. (unless you add up all of my fan films that I’ve downloaded. ;)) I just have to find something else to do while it’s downloading or I’ll go crazy (or at least crazier.)

  2. nice the nx is a great ship design. talking about unlucky numbers that follow you around mine is 13 i got married on fridauy the 13 of june 2008 and my son was born on the 13/06/09 so i kinda like that number lol
    rock on

  3. To me, numbers are numbers, none are lucky or unlucky. IMO, shit happens and whatever numbers are involved are inconsequential. 😉

Thanks for the comments, guys. I love the NX-era. Both the work of Doug Drexler and John Eaves designing the ships and all of those talented CG artists who built them are top notch. The “half saucer” (designed by Eaves and built using parts of the Drexler designed Enterprise) is one of my favorites, which is why I had to build one a couple years ago. 🙂

    • Nowhere, ATM. I’ve considered getting some web space and adding a downloads section but that kind of thing costs money and I really don’t have any to spare. I’ve attempted to upload to various sites with downloads sections but usually wind up with a problem caused by that site (usually timeouts.)

  4. So if you want some webspace i can share some you, i`m a movie maker from germany an i have a big homepage with plenty of space. Your models are great! I found one of your models on 3DSciFi, i use cinema4D and converted it. I love your models. By the way, is that your ship in that Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqeFsBb9xdg
    How did he get it?
I can sahre with you 400MB at the moment, i upload it to my webspace and you can link it directly. Now download limit. What do you think?

    • No, that doesn’t look like one of mine, even though they gave me credit for it. It looks more like Vektor’s Constitution model. As far as my models being available, I’ve posted some on 3DSciFi (as you noticed) and some on http://www.3dgladiators.com and http://www.scifi-meshes.com in the past, but I can’t guarantee that any of it is still there. And, if it is it’s older stuff.

And thanks for the offer of the web space. I just remembered that the webmaster of 3DSciFi did set aside some space for me to use, I just need to install an FTP program and upload the meshes. I might get to working on that after I switch my Windows install from Vista to XP (I should be getting the software that will allow me to do that in the mail any day now.)

  5. Thank you! I found that one Constitution with the windows to see the interrior and rendered a short scene:

If you need webspace in the futur feel free to contact me.
    cheers!
    Marc
